About Newman Senior High School
Thank you for your interest in a student enrolment at Newman Senior High School (SHS). We are an inclusive school that welcome and embrace new students. Together in partnership with parents/carers, we make our students education a priority.
Our priority is to sustain this success and continue to improve student achievement, engagement and pathways. The school is well resourced and has strong foundations, including ‘The Newman Way’ for Quality Teaching, an established pastoral care approach and a strategic focus on STEM that connects classroom learning with the opportunities, industries and future pathways available within the Pilbara.
These are underpinned by our values of Care and Compassion, Respect and Responsibility, which shape both our teaching and the way we work with students. Established partnerships with families, local industry and community organisations provide valuable opportunities that extend student learning and pathways beyond the classroom.
Under the School Education Regulations (2000), students are guaranteed a place in the school if their usual place of residence is within our local intake area. However, general admission to Newman SHS is via submission of enrolment forms and is not automatically processed just because the student attended a local primary school.
