Computer Use

Newman Senior High School is fully networked with Internet access for all students and staff across the school.  Use of computer facilities is closely monitored. Students using the facilities are required to complete a Computer User’s Agreement.   Failure to complete this agreement will mean a student is unable to access the school’s computing system. 

Access to computers will be withdrawn immediately for inappropriate use.

Mobile Phone and Related Technology

We require that electronic devices are switched off during class time, unless students are participating in teacher-directed activities. Students found using devices without the permission of teachers during class time will have them confiscated and returned to them at the end of the day.

Newman Senior High School takes seriously any inappropriate use of social media during school time. For this reason, the Police liaison is invited to the school to speak to students from time- to- time. Outlined within such visits are laws relating to, and possible consequences of inappropriate use. NSHS are thrilled to have such positive support from community groups to educate our students and ask that you join us in promoting sensible use of social media.
